1924年9月生。
1949年任《苏南日报》画刊编辑，开始创作漫画。
1952年肄业于杭州国立艺术专科学校。
1953年起前后 任　《漫画》月刊编辑、中国美术馆研讨 部编辑、1979年至1988年任《人民日报》社《讽刺与幽默》编委。
现为《人民日报社》社高级编辑，
中国美术家协会会　员。
出版有《江帆漫画》、《江帆漫画选》、《外国漫画人像全集 》等，并发表有研讨 文章《注重 漫画艺术的情势 美》等文章。
作品《响尾蛇》获第1 届全国青年美展1 等奖，《迎贵宾》1980获日本“读卖旧事 国际漫画比赛”大奖。
