杨建明，笔名杨睩，男，1955年11月生于上海，本籍 浙江宁波。1973年进入上海人民美术出版社美术培训班，1974年开始在该单位专职从事美术创作，1976年进入上海戏剧学院美术系油画班进修，1988年进入上海大学美术学院美术设计系学习，同时，继续留任本单位美术设计1 职。大学毕业后开始兼任美术编辑工作，其许多作品被出版发表，多次入选国家级美展、省市级美展并获奖。
现为中国美术家协会会员、上海市美术家协会会员、上海市人民美术出版社美术编辑。
