柳冠中(1943.7—)浙江人。擅长工艺美术。1966年毕业于地方 工艺美术学院建筑装潢 系，1980年毕业于地方 工艺美术学院工业美术系工业外型 专业研讨 生班。1981年入西德斯图加特外型 艺术学院工业设计系进修。历任北京市建筑设计院研讨 室室内设计研讨 员，地方 工艺美术学院工业设计系主任、副教授。作品有组合家具及展架设计、手扶平面振动磨设计、毛主席纪念堂各厅组合灯具设计等。
清华大学美术学院责任教授、博士生导师；中国工业设计协会副理事长兼学术和交流委员会主任；香港理工大学荣誉教授；中南大学艺术学院兼职教授和博士生导师等。
