毛本华，1942年6月生，浙江舟山人。擅长油画。1957年考入北京艺术师范学院，1960年毕业于地方 美术学院油画系。曾在河南省博物馆工作。曾任河南省群众艺术馆美术工作室主任。中国油画学会会员，河南省美术家协会常务理事，河南油画学会副会长，中原工学院艺术设计系教授。油画作品多次入选全国美术作品展，曾获全国第七届美术作品展铜奖。国务院政府特殊津贴专家。
作品有《大禹治水》、《责任山》。出版有《河南民间玩具》(合作编著)等。
