王勉，江苏无锡人。1961年毕业于南京师范大学美术系。
擅长色粉画、油画、版画。作品风格写实抒情。
现为国家1 级美术师，中国美术家协会会员，江苏省美术家协会理事，江苏省版画家协会副会长，
苏州市美术家协会副主席。曾担任苏州美术馆首任馆长，苏州市文联委员，多次担任省美展评委。
1964年有作品首次入选第四届全国美展。
此后，作品经常在国内各类严重 美展和 欧美、东南亚国家和港澳台地区展出，并被美术馆、博物馆收藏。
2002　年，粉画《苏州水乡系列》在法国参展，获二等奖。
《苏州水乡之四》被“ASIATICA“艺术博物馆收藏。
前后 获国外奖项两次，国内全国奖项两次，省市级　奖项十多次。
版画《洞庭红》入选全国第十届版画展、《藕香》入选全国第十1 届版画展、粉画《人体》入选全国第5 届水彩粉画作品展览。
