福建仙游人，现为福建师范大学美术学院副院长、教授、硕士生导师、教育部艺术教学指点 委员、中国美术家协会会员、中国油画家学会福州高校团体学会副会长、福建师大艺术展览交流中心副主任。
胡振德1977年福建师大美术系毕业。以优良 成绩留校任教。1979年赴浙江美术学院进修素描1 年，1985年考入地方 美术学院高级油画研修班修业两年。1991——1995年旅居欧洲中东多国进行艺术考察和学术交流活动，并在阿联酋和芬兰讲学，前后 八次在国内外成功举办个展。擅长人物画，宠爱 风景艺术。多次参加国内外各类画展并获奖。近作《庆典》入选建党80周年全国美展获优秀作品，《故土恋情》获523纪念延安文艺座谈会全国美展铜奖，省政府百花文艺奖，出版《胡振德油画集》。近年来研讨 中国精神在风景油画中的融合表现；我国著名评论家邵大箴教授在《美术观察》2008.第9期撰文《可贵的写意性探索》---读胡振德油画，认为是“当今画坛值得关注的一名 画家”。《文艺研讨 》、《美术观察》、《中国油画》、《人民网》、《艺术中国》等都专题介绍胡振德油画研讨 成果。
