上海青浦人。擅长油画、美术教育。1949年入中南部队艺术学院，1956年入地方 美术学院油画系，1961年毕业于吴作人工作室。历任安徽师范大学讲师、副教授、副院长、院长，《中国十大古典文学名著画集》绘画主编。作品有《老兵新传》、《脱谷机手》等。多次参加全国美展和出国展览。《强渡天堑》、《粤海深情》分别为中国革命军事、历史博物馆收藏。
