别名少芝，北京玉雕艺术家。北玉四杰（其他三杰为潘秉衡、何荣、刘德盈）之1 。北京市人。十三岁随父王恩忠学画和家传“花片（玉佩1 类作品）”技艺。他的作品，擅于“小中藏大”、“薄中显厚”、“平而反鼓”（即凸出来，具有立体感）。他的《玛瑙5 鹅》作品，曾轰动玉器行业，成为誉满中外的俏色绝品。他不论琢制山水花鸟，还是塑造名人神佛，都重视 特征，讲求神韵，不落俗套。琢玉5 十多年，从未制造 过同样作品。
1949年后曾在地方 美术学院雕塑系学习，长时间 从事玉雕创作。1955年被评为玉器行业老艺人，并聘为工艺美术研讨 所研讨 员。1 九七八年，在香港举办“中国工艺品、首饰展卖会”，他制造 的《高绿翡翠龙凤福寿玉佩》珍品，轰动港澳和我国工艺美术界。
