1960年11月生，湖南省南县人，毕业于湖南师范大学美术系，努力 于高校美术基础教学和水彩画专业教学与创作。前后 毕业于衡阳师范学院美术系、湖南师范大学艺术学院美术系、广州美术学院水彩画高级进修班。曾为湖南科技大学艺术学院副教授，现为5 邑大学艺术设计学院院长，教授，硕士生导师，中国美术家协会会员。
