王涌笔名地娃，湖北荆州人。擅长水彩画。
1961年9月生于四川，本籍 湖北荆州。1984年毕业于湖北美术学院版画系，现为改系副教授，中国美术家协会会员，中国水彩画协会会员，湖北水彩画艺委会副主任，湖北水彩画协会副会长。
1984年木刻《洪湖岸边》参加全国第六届美展，并获湖北省第六届美展铜奖。
1987年水彩《水果店》参加首届“全国水彩画、水粉画展览”，并获湖北省第二届水彩画1 等奖。
1989年木刻《蓝士布》参加全国第七届美展，并获湖北省第七届美展铜奖。水彩《侗寨夜歌》参加全国第七届美展。
1990年水彩《野柿子》参加杭州中国水彩画大展并获铜奖，水彩《暮霭》获“隔山大奖赛”优秀奖。
1991年水彩《5 月的思念》参加中国西湖美术节，获银奖。
1992年水彩《逆光中的果子》参加杭州中国水彩画大展获铜奖，《秋意》参加第二届水彩画、水粉画展览，并获优秀奖。
1993年水彩《永久 的回忆》获中国长江杯水彩画大展金奖。
1994年水彩《追思 中的蓝色》获全国第八届美展大奖，并获湖北省第八届美展银奖。
1996年再北京国际艺苑举办“湖北5 人水彩画联展”。
1997年水彩《深秋的广》获第七届中国水彩画展铜奖。
1998年水彩作品参加“深圳全国青年水彩画家提名展”，同年出版专集《中国名家静物水彩临本》。
1999年水彩《5 彩尊》参加全国第九届美展，并获湖北省第九届美展银奖。
2002年水彩《春》获第六届水彩画、水粉画展览优秀奖。
2003年水彩《香格里拉》获中国水彩写生大展铜奖。
2004年水彩《青花清韵》、《珊瑚红彩》获湖北省第十届美展铜奖，壁画《生物进化史》（合作）参加全国首届壁画大展，获大奖。并参加全国第十届美展。
2006年水彩《追思 中的蓝色》参加中国百年水彩画展，并被中国美术馆收藏。
