河北赵县人。擅长油画、水粉画。1960年地方 戏剧学院舞台美术系本科毕业。曾在河北省文明 艺术学院、地方 戏剧学院任教，河北歌舞剧院舞台美术设计。1982年入河北画院任专业画家，1 级美术师。作品被中国美术馆及欧、美、亚洲多国艺术博物馆收藏。作品《夏日馈赠》获第七届全国美展铜牌奖。出版有《铁扬画集》等。
