1940年出生，江西省赣县人。1960年毕业于广州美术学院附中，1965年毕业于广州美术学院油画系，同年加入中国人民解放军成为广州军区政治部美术创作员，后任广州军区文艺创作组专业美术创作员。1984年专业。调入广州画院至今，现为中国美术家协会会员，广东美术家协会会员，广州画院专职画家。曾任广东油画会理事，广州画院院长助理。
